My Love for art began at an early age in a small country school in Finland.
Encouraged by my teachers who were well known husband and wife artists in Europe.
When I moved to the United States at the age of twelve and could not speak a word of English, I learned I could communicate through my art work. “language is not a barrier in art”.
Inspired by nature, I have chosen the use of simplified forms, rich and brilliant colors. I am constantly seeking discoveries through “accidents” often created by a fully loaded brush creating “juicy” colors by layers of paint directly on the canvas.
I find it difficult to classify my work into a specific style - The freedom to experiment, learn new methods and pure enjoyment of painting is more important to me at this time.
