An arrest on suspicion of felony arson committed in Folsom came July 22 after the suspect left the hospital. Jung Hang Suh of West Sacramento was booked at Sacramento County Jail with bail set at $150,000, announced Officer Michelle Beattie of Folsom Police Department.
Blue Ravine Cleaners at 196 Blue Ravine Road was the scene of a wee-hours fire July 5.
Fire and police personnel on the rooftop found jars of flammable liquid, said Fire Marshal John Haberek of the Folsom Fire Department.
On an adjoining roof, they found an injured man, Jung, who was hospitalized with a serious leg injury, Haberek said.
Jung on investigation turned out to be the owner of Blue Ravine Cleaners, Beattie said.
"It's an L-shaped kind of strip mall, and at the junction of the two wings, an arch rises eight to 10 feet above the roofs," Haberek said. "Moving from one to another, it looks like he probably fell. He had a hospital stay of at least two weeks."
Investigators also found Jung had "serious financial difficulties" with the Blue Ravine Cleaners business, Beattie said.
"Folsom detectives believe that Jung started the fire in an attempt to recoup his financial losses and separate from the business," Beattie said.
The fire did an estimated $25,000 worth of damage.
