Daniels qualifies for state golf tournament
Folsom Lake College sophomore Kristin Daniels qualified the California Community College Women’s Golf State Tournament yesterday. At the Northern California Regional Championships held Monday and Tuesday at Empire Ranch Golf Club, Daniels shot a 36-hole score of 164 to finish tied for sixth. Daniels shot an 84 on Monday and followed it up with an 80 on Tuesday. The top two teams and 12 individuals qualified for the state tournament. Daniels’ teammate, Lesley Winford, shot a 168 with an 81on Monday and an 88 on Tuesday and tied for 12th, losing a tiebreaker and narrowly missing out on qualifying for the state tournament.
