How do I submit information?
Inside the Telegraph

By Laura Newell

Telegraph Staff Writer

As your public newspaper, The Folsom Telegraph and the El Dorado Hills Telegraph are here to work for you.

We want to help promote your local news, businesses, persons of interest and events – it’s our job.

Here are a few helpful tips on how to use us effectively:

First, there are two sides to every story (and office).

The Telegraph is made up of two main areas, editorial and advertising.

To submit upcoming “Things to do” calendar events, press releases and story ideas, e-mail folsomadmin@goldcountrymedia.com. This will alert the managing editor, Don Chaddock, about upcoming editorial work. Chaddock’s required submission deadline is two weeks prior to the requested publication date. By submitting editorial requests two weeks in advance, it allows him time to assign reporters and photographers to each story.

Still, there is no guarantee that a story or “Things to do” calendar event will make it into the newspaper due to space constraints.

That’s where the advertising department comes in. They handle those boxes at the bottom of the page.

For guaranteed placement, you will want to talk to the advertising sales representatives. In this office your advertising contacts are advertising director Nina Jaeger at 351-3745, sales representative Jessica Amour at 351-3746 or sales representative Rebecca Regrut at 351-3744.

Our advertising professionals are separated by territory, so always remember to provide the location you want to target and the location of your business or event.

The advertising professionals will then work with you to create effective advertising at reasonable prices.

For all classified advertising including obituaries, birth announcements, garage sales and all other non-business ads, you can contact the classified department at 786-6500.

For all other questions, comments or concerns, please contact 985-2581.
