First 'Running of the Bullipedes' helps kick-off rodeo
Staff report

It may not be Spain’s famous Running of the Bulls, but Folsom’s version is probably much safer.

The very first “Running of the Bullipedes” will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, just before the cattle drive.

Organizers say a five-person team can enter the run for $50 and all ages and competition levels are welcome. There will be awards for best costume and for the first three teams to finish the run.

According to organizers, “‘The Running of the Bullipedes’ is a wild and wacky one-mile foot race through Historic Folsom for teams of five runners who must be connected and must run together.”

The Sacramento Running Association is organizing the event. They are only allowing online entries and the registration deadline is June 28 at noon. To register, go to active.com and search under “bullipede.” The run begins at the park.
