Steven Paul "Boston" Colver, 19, pled not guilty Monday afternoon when he went into El Dorado County Superior Court to face first-degree murder charges.

His girlfriend, 14-year-old Tylar Witt, was also in court Monday for a "detention" hearing. The teens are accused of murdering Witt's mother, 47-year-old Joanne, in her El Dorado Hills home and fleeing to San Francisco. According to the sheriff's office, the mother was stabbed to death.

The mother's body was found by sheriff's deputies doing a welfare check on Monday last week.

The teens were arrested Wednesday in San Bruno. They were initially booked into San Mateo County Jail but were transferred back to El Dorado County. Witt arrived Thursday afternoon and was booked into juvenile hall while Colver arrived late Friday afternoon and was booked into El Dorado County Jail.

Since Witt is currently being handled as a juvenile, no details regarding her case are being released. There is a possibility Witt could be tried as an adult.
